The Fresh Connect is an annual celebration rooted in celebrating and building community around and through Hip-Hop. It celebrates and connects emerging talent, seasoned professionals, participants and supporters of Hip-Hop culture at Columbia College Chicago and beyond. The Fresh Connect is produced by graduate and undergraduate students in the Events Management Practicum Course in partnership with the Hip-Hop Studies Minor.

  • Teach Events Management Practicum course in partnership with the Hip-Hop Studies Minor to provide a hands-on experience in live event production with an emphasis on compassion, teamwork, and leadership.

  • Develop curriculum that provides resources, tools, and training necessary for planning and managing live events.

  • Provide constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback.

  • Established the Parker Lee Williams Scholarship for Hip-Hop Excellence with students, faculty, and staff.
